Countable Nouns and Uncountable Nouns
Countable nous คือนามนับได้
นามชนิดนี้จะมีทั้งรูปเอกพจน์ และพหูพจน์ เช่น students – students, table-tables, chair – chairs เป็นต้น
Uncountable nouns คือนามนับไม่ได้
นามชนิดนี้จะมีแต่รูปเอกพจน์เท่านั้น เช่น sugar, rice, oil, money
ความรู้เรื่องนามนับได้และนามนับไม่ได้ มีความสำคัญอย่างไร
การที่คำนามใด ๆ เป็นนามนับได้หรือนามนับไม่ได้ จะมีความสำคัญเวลาที่เราจะเลือกใช้ article หรือคำนำหน้านาม อย่าง a, an หรือ the นอกจากนี้ ยังมีผลต่อการเลือกใช้ adjective เช่น much, many, few หรือ little เป็นต้น
